Here are some etiquette rules to follow if you are getting ready for a meeting with an important person for the first time. 

Try to stick to these rules to make a good impression and effect. It is worth noting that the first impression has a deep influence.

·         Have a neat look without cosmetics.

·         Wear nice clean and well-ironed garments. Particularly, women should avoid skimpy clothes that make them alluring.

·         Care for hairstyle and shave beards for men. Whereas women can make soft hairstyles that suit their faces.

·         Make soft makeup for clear facial features.

·         Pick a good perfume that is neither a strong aroma that upsets others nor a light fragrance.

·         Women should care for their fingernails and toenails when putting on sandals, while men should care for their fingernails and keep their shoes clean.

 

·         Take care of teeth, mouth, and gum health to avoid bad breath.

·         Keep legs together when sitting, neither stretching nor opening them.

·         Keep your back straight when sitting and standing to show self-confidence.

·         Women should touch the ground with their toes with a straight back if the seat is high.

·         Talk confidently.

·         Break the ice with a true smile as a cheerful face is unforgettable. Therefore, try to smile honestly through your mouth and eyes.

·         Look directly at the speaker’s eyes as it makes you credible and trustworthy.

·         Keep off talking about negative issues, and be positive during the first meeting.

·         Call people by their names during the conversation to express your concern for the other.

·         Respect dates of appointments to leave a positive impression.
